Ingredients
250gms butter
300gms almonds
250gms Gluten-Free Guru plain flour
Saffron – few strands
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 heaped teaspoons finely ground edible gum
375g sweet, condensed milk
Method
Sauté butter and GFG flour until golden brown and you get a nutty, buttery fragrance – keep stirring
Add the ground edible gum and stir – you may hear little popping sounds – few seconds – keep stirring
Add spices
Add ground almonds – stir
Turn off the heat, add the sweet milk – stir till well-mixed
Pour into a tray. Pat down with spoon and the bottom of a glass to give a smooth finish
Cut into squares or diamond shape and let it cool
